Miao-Ping Chien is an Associate Professor at Erasmus MC and Senior Principal Investigator at the Oncode Institute. After earning her PhD in chemical biology from UC San Diego, she conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard University and established her laboratory in 2017. Her group develops imaging-guided single-cell and spatial omics technologies that connect live-cell behavior with molecular mechanisms. She investigates rare, dynamic cancer cell states driving metastasis, chromosomal-instability-associated immune escape, and therapy resistance, with growing emphasis on 3D models, AI-based prediction, clinical translation, and valorization. An ERC Consolidator Grant recipient, she co-founded AcceleraDx to accelerate biomarker-guided precision oncology drug development.
I am excited to work with international academic and industrial partners in SPACE-MEL to combine advanced imaging, spatial omics and AI. Together, we aim to resolve rare and dynamic cancer cell states within their tissue context and translate these discoveries into improved biomarkers and treatment options.
