To ensure the SPACE-MEL doctoral students are equipped with the necessary scientific and technical expertise to become highly skilled interdisciplinary researchers, the programme includes a combination of network-wide training events, hands-on workshops, a summer school, a bootcamp and dedicated DC networking events, taking place both online and at partner institutions across Europe.
Today, scientific and technical expertise alone is not enough. Researchers also need strong communication, collaboration and other transferable skills to share their work effectively, work across disciplines and sectors, and build successful careers beyond the PhD, which is why SPACE-MEL combines advanced scientific and technical training with dedicated development of transferable skills, including communication, grant writing, innovation, commercialisation, and networking.
